Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records through the eCourts Portal, public terminals, and clerk offices, while statutes such as N.C.G.S. Chapter 132 and Chapter 7A set the access framework and limits. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. In Durham County, the Clerk of Superior Court serves both Superior Court and District Court, handles probate as Judge of Probate, and keeps many court records at 510 South Dillard Street. The Sheriff manages jail records and warrant-status channels, while the Register of Deeds handles marriage certificates and vital-record requests. We pull those offices, portals, and request steps into one place.
